Frost City; Taiwanese Shave Ice
One of my Chinese friends introduced me and Karllyn to FrostCity during the month of April. Frost City has a lot of desserts, hot and cold. From Hong Kong Milk Tea, to Red Bean Soup, Black Sesame Soup, Boba Drinks and for what they are famous for, their Taiwanese Shave Ice, also called "Frosty." A frosty is basically flavored ice and and you can also have it drizzled with milk or chocolate syrup. Then to top it off, they include fruits that go along with the flavor you ordered and add cute little jelly stars and lychee balls that pop in your mouth. It's a whole explosion of flavors! I've only been there twice, but I'm planning to go there more often during next school year since I'll be dorming and I'll be closer. So far I've tried the Lychee and Pineapple flavors and with no doubt, it's delish! I've also tried their Red Bean and Black Sesame, but I prefer the Red Bean better because the Black Sesame is too sweet for me. But you can also ask them to turn down the sugar if you don't like sweet.
Another thing that I love about this place is that, the atmosphere is not awkward, everyone is nice and they also serve your food. I've met all the workers there, they're really nice, and I can't stress that enough. I've seen a lot of asian students there, but not so much others. Probably because it's an asian thing. Lol. Anyways, there's the aunty who owns the place and her husband, a middle aged man, two women and two younger guys. They're all nice and I'm sure the two guys go to UH Manoa. Haha. But I love the owner as if she was my own aunt. She makes sure that I like their products, and she makes sure that she gets the flavor right. I don't like sweet foods. I'm not a chocolate fan, nor am I an ice cream fan like my cousin Dinah. I like sweet, but not too sweet. I'm looking forward to go to Frost City more often and just hang out or lounge around doing my homework. I still yet have to try their Hong Kong Milk Tea because I heard it's better than coffee and it's a lot stronger without being too heavy.

Lychee Frosty
(Lychee, Strawberry, Lychee Jelly, Melon Slices, Star Jellies & Shredded Jelly)
Pineapple Frosty
(Pineapple, Mochi, Star Jellies, Lychee Jelly & Strawberries)
Till next time,
