Coconut Island!
Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology (HIMB) at Coconut Island.
So I got an email today from my former Geology Professor who is also my boss at work, and she was looking for a volunteer who would like to accompany her to go to HIMB, the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology at Coconut Island. I'm not sure why it's called Coconut Island yet, but I sure will find out! But anyways, I wasn't sure if the offer was already taken so I emailed her back saying that I was available but if she had already found someone it would be ok. Then moments later while I was in Chemistry Lab, Christine, one of the Grad students I work with emailed her saying she'd go. Indecisive, she asked us who would like to see Coconut Island more. Christine offered it to me since I was first, then George sends out a message about wanting to tag along. H had to also turn him down just because I was first. I feel bad that G had to be turned down but I'm also excited that I get to see this place. A 15 minute drive to Kaneohe, then a minute boat ride to the Island. I'm pretty hyped! But yay for science!
Update you later,
