Sweet Home Cafe v. Hot Pot Heaven
Have you ever tried Hot Pot? It's a Chinese/Taiwanese Hot Pot experience in comparison to a Japanese Shabu-Shabu. So far I've only eaten at Sweet Home Cafe down at King St. and Hot Pot Heaven at the McCully Shopping Center. Both are very similar, however, Sweet Home Cafe tends to be a lot more busier, have cuter waiters, more side dish choices, better dessert, but smaller area and more cramped. There's probably no complaining about the cramped area since they are family owned and Asians tend to be more family oriented and the philosophical idea of collectivism instead of individualism. Hot Pot on the other hand have mochi ice cream, which I believe is kinda cheap for a dessert, but hey, it's free! They have more room in their restaurant but they have bad service sometimes especially when they sit you in another parties' table and asks you to go back outside and wait. Kinda rude I thought. Although the wait for Sweet Home Cafe is usually long and a hassle getting through a lot of people talking and trying to get in, the service, food and dessert is better.

Sweet Home Cafe. You can see how busy and small it is. But very homey!
We had two broths: Spicy and Healthy.
Dessert for 6. It was VERY yummy.
Hot Pot Heaven.
We had the Miso Broth here. Limited sides behind me.
Fish cake, Tofu, Udon, Squid balls and my cute wallet :3
Mochi for three: Sweet Potato, Strawberry and Green Tea.
Which place do you like best?
